Trying out Photography

Back in October I got a really nice camera. I decided this weekend to put it to great use, and try some more professional type photography. I took these maternity pictures of my friend Lindsay and her husband Annand.  Honestly, what do you think?

Camera Strap

I think these camera straps are absolutely adorable! I would love to have one for my cannon camera! I came across the blog Grosgrain and saw these cute camera straps. There are different fabrics to chose from. All you do is slide this cover over your camera strap! What a cute idea! I'm adding it to either a "craft to do list" (for my hubby that is, he's the one who can sew!) or a "to buy list"...not sure which one yet! I looked up camera straps on Etsy, and found that most cost around $10...and come in cute Amy Butler fabrics!

Baby Shower

I threw a baby shower this weekend for a very good friend of mine! The colors: Teal and Brown! I had so many ideas of things I wanted to make! Unfortunately I didn't get to do everything I wanted to, but I did do most of it! The thing I was most excited about was this banner! I used all Stampin' Up! paper, my cricut, double sided tape, toile, and ribbon! That's it!
This is the banner!

With it also being the holiday season, I decided to make peppermint bark for the take-home treat! All you do is crush candy canes, stir them into melted white chocolate, lay flat on wax paper, refrigerate until hard, and break into pieces! What a yummy snack! I wanted to stick to the teal and brown, so I used teal paper with brown polka dots to cover the treat baggies. Then I stapled the baggies shut!
I made these for the cupcake toppers! The cupcakes where chocolate with chocolate frosting of course! Yummy!
Since I have a vinyl machine, I decided to do different vinyl projects for game prizes!
This is prize #1
Prize #2
Prize #3
Prize #4
Prize #5
Prize #6
Prize #7
Since every good place to hang a banner is being occupied by garland for Christmas....I used the TV haha!
I also made these plaques. They were used as a shower decoration, plus they are a nursery decoration.

I found this cute cupcake stand at Williams-Sonoma! I love it!
MORE CUPCAKES!

Christmas Countdown Calendar

This is my newest addition to my Etsy Shop! I am so excited about it! It's a Christmas Countdown Calendar! This is made in a 12x12 routed board. Its has sheet metal with vinyl lettering on it. The vinyl lettering reads "Let it Snow" 4 times. There are the numbers 1-25 inside of snowflakes. The calendar comes with a magnet to put on the day that it is...leading you up to Christmas. Let me know if you would like one of these! Cost is $29.95...or I can barter too! I'm super excited about these! I hope you all like them!

Potato Cheese Soup

One of my favorite things about this time of year is the food! Since the weather is cooling off, I love to eat soup! This is a recipe I got last year from a family that I nannied for! I absolutely love it and I think you all will too!
Potato Cheese Soup

-6 cups water
-6 bouillon cubes
-1/2 tbs parsley
-1 pint of half & half
-1/4 cup flour
-1tbs chopped onion
-1 carrot, grated
-6-8 potatoes chopped

1 cup shredded cheese

Directions:
Boil water and bouillon cubes until onion, parsley, potatoes, and carrot are done. In a separate pan, melt butter and whisk in flour, then add half & half. Bring to a boil. Add to potato mixture. Simmer 5 minutes. Add cheese.
