Landon's Cowboy Party

Warning!!! Photo overload!!!
A few weeks ago we had a birthday party for our little boy! He is now 3! I can't believe how fast time flies! Landon LOVES horses so I decided to do a cowboy themed party. I was on a pretty tight budget. I stocked up on items starting about 4 months before the party! Here's what I came up with!

I made this banner using my cricut. I bought the bandana and denim looking paper at Hobby Lobby. I tied the pieces of the banner together using twine from the dollar section in target.
I used brown ink to slightly distress the letters on the banner.
I already had this magnet board. It was in my craft room. I just swapped out the ribbon and the magnets. I made the magnets using my button maker. I made the sign with my Stampin' Up digital scrapbook program...it's nothing fancy...I wanted it simple. The ribbon is from hobby lobby.

The general store was the main attraction at the party. It had the following items:
-Swirly Suckers, Oriental Trading Co.
-Boston Baked Beans, Oriental Trading Co.
-Animal Crackers
-Popcorn
-IBC Rootbeer
-Water
-Rootbeer Barrels
-Bubbles, Oriental Trading Co.
-Stickers, Oriental Trading Co.
-Cupcakes
-Playdough, Target dollar bin
-Cakepops, made by Krysten Jankowski
-Hairy Cowboy, Oriental Trading Co.

My friend Jenny made up these Toy Story images for me to use to make cupcake toppers. Landon LOVES Toy Story so I had to include some of the characters in the party. I went with Woody, Jesse, and Bullseye. The cupcake wrappers are from Hobby Lobby.
Here's the General Store as a whole. Each item is in it's own bucket. I already had these. They are from Lowes. I just lined them with Bandana's, again from Hobby Lobby.

I decided to put ribbon through these tiers...why didn't I think of that idea sooner?! lol.... again the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.
I took a lot of pics of the cake pops!

My friend Jenny also made these images for goody bags. They say "Thanks for horse-ing around with us."

In case you're wondering...no I didn't fill that giant bucket with animal crackers! I had lots of people ask that! I put a no 10 can in the bucket then put a paper plate on top. It was the perfect fit. I used 1 large bag of animal crackers. I did fill it wiith popcorn though!

Got these popcorn containers at Hobby Lobby.
Yeah...my back yard is small! Here's how it was set up. I used just cheap plastic white table cloths, but I covered them with burlap, or red and white checkered fabric....again from Hobby Lobby. The tables totally needed a centerpiece...oh well =(. I brought out Landon's jumbo horse and his rocking horse for the kiddos. I was bummed because I didn't buy the stick horses fast enough from the dollar stores...it would have been cute for each kid to have their own horse.
I ordered this shirt off of Etsy.

My friends little boy...all of the kids got bandanas and sheriff badges...from Oriental Trading Co.
Our pretty girl!
Here's the food table. I got that barn door thing from hobby lobby. For food I served cornbread, baked beans, bbq chicken sandwiches and frog eye salad.
I bought this bucket as a kitchen decoration at Home Goods but it worked great for the party!
Landon and his friend on the horsie gazing deeply into each others eyes.
Landon and his partner in crime.
The birthday boy all covered in cake pop and cupcakes!

Landon's other partner in crime.
Here we are singing Happy birthday.
He loved opening presents!
Here's our little family!
Thanks to all who came and Happy Birthday to our little guy!

Piano Refinish!

A few months back my husband picked up a piano for me off of craigslist for $120! It definitely needed to be refinished! Here are the pics of it! I searched all over my computer and couldn'd find the before pic =(
Here it is after some pieces have been sanded....lots of sandpaper was used!
Here's the base of the piano finished! My husband did the whole thing...how lucky am I ?? All I did was distress the edges! My husband used a black stain instead of paint! I LOVE how the stain looks!
Close up! This piano is over 100 yrs old!
Here's a close up of the knobs...found at hobby lobby!

And the finished product...my husband made a different bench! I love it! It stores lots of music and my flute! I love the fabric too...Hobby Lobby!
Doesn't it look great?! My husband did such an amazing job!!!! I'm sooo lucky!!! He said he loved doing it, but he will never do it again! In case you were wondering...40 hours is the estimated time he spent on this....I sure am one grateful wife!

Neighbor Gifts

Again a little late....here is what I did for Neighbors & Friends for Christmas....I got these jars at Hobby lobby then put a monogram or the words "The Candy Jar" then filled with white chocolate popcorn that had crushed up candy cane...yummy!!!
I threw this together for a $5 gift exchange we went to! I thought it turned out pretty cute! I dotted the I's with a rhinestone for some bling!
